D.E.L. Motors Serving Our Junction City Community
D.E.L. Motors is one of Junction City’s oldest car dealerships, and for over 40 years, we have been an active member of our community, sponsoring several events each year. We support our community as part of nearby cities like Milford Lake, Junction City, and Salina. We are here for our fellow citizens and members of our United States Armed Forces. We have been helping our clients get into vehicles for four decades, and we are proud supporters of all our community members. We have sponsored many great events each year, and we will continue to do so in years to come.
Junction City Main Street
Junction City Main Street is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing our downtown area and improving the economy of our community. They support our economic interests by striving to enhance our Main Street as a place where family and friends can gather to shop and socialize. Main Street partners with other community entities to support all our citizens, including the 15,000 military heroes and their families stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas.
Freedom Fest
As part of our continued support of our military, our community, and our country, we proudly partner up with Main Street and other community entities to celebrate with Freedom Fest. This five-day event brings vendors, special events, and carnival fun to our community as we celebrate the independence of our country.
Society of the First Infantry Division
Junction City and Ft. Riley, Kansas, is home to the First Infantry Division. We are especially proud of the U.S. Army’s oldest and most renowned division, also called “The Big Red One”. The First Infantry Society is an organization that supports all soldiers of the famous First Infantry Division and their families in several ways, including scholarships for college and maintaining memorials dedicated to all members of the division past and present.
KJIL
KJIL is a faith-based radio station that we also sponsor as they deliver messages to change lives all around the Junction City area and beyond with web-based broadcasts that anyone with a computer can listen to. D.E.L Motors helps support the ministry and vision of KJIL as part of the Great Plains Christian Radio.
Quilts of Valor
Quilts of Valor (QOV) is an organization that was started by a literal dream the founder had of a soldier alone on a bunk surrounded by the effects of war who became wrapped in a quilt which brought him comfort and healing. The mission of QOV is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with high-quality, comforting, and healing quilts of valor as a symbol of appreciation for all the sacrifices service members and veterans make every single day. The message of this organization is simple “Quilts = Healing”. Recently, the organization hit a milestone when they awarded the 300,000th quilt to a veteran as a thank you for his service.
D.E.L. Motors partners with our community and our residents and military members. We proudly provide donations to all the charitable organizations featured here.
D.E.L. Motors is known for its link to what just may be the weirdest car ever, the 1955 Manta Ray. A unique dashboard and distinct front end make the model easily recognizable. The Manta Ray has been stored at D.E.L. Motors for many years as part of an extensive and interesting collection of classic models. It has been featured on Chasing Classic Cars and in the Hemmings 1954 magazine. This Studebaker has an out-of-this-world look that has never been duplicated since.
D.E.L. Motors has also been featured on American Pickers. DEL showed the hosts of the show his dad’s car collection at the Kansas Car Museum. They see a 1952 XK 120 with 17,000 miles on it, among other models. He negotiates with the American Pickers for a few accessories and old-car parts. They find hood ornaments, horns, and other parts that can be used on a renovated classic model. Some of the historic vehicles will be passed down to family members.
